The Goal

In the first meeting with the client, we had a complete visit to the museum and were able to learn the entire story of Dr. Frederick G. Banting and his discovery of insulin as told by curator Grant Maltman.

The client's objective is to showcase essential parts of the museum, offering users an experience without the need to visit the site physically.

The Process

Branding First Version

The primary goal of this first version of the logo was to capture the essence of the Banting House Museum through its design.

The icon consists of elements that capture the essence of the museum: "B" for Banting and "H" for House form a symbol that recalls the shape of two pillars, relating to the architectural and historical elements of the museum.

The pillar-like shape nods to the museum's architectural elements, while the font used in the logo brings a historical aspect that aligns with the museum's focus on preserving the legacy of Frederick Banting and his discovery of insulin. Additionally, the clean and versatile tagline further emphasizes the logo's ability to effectively convey the museum's mission.

Branding Final Version

Although the client informed us in the initial briefing that the creation of the new identity could be different and unique, the logo and the visual identity had to be changed to incorporate the identity of the Diabetes Canada institution. The second version of the logo was the version we deployed for the website.

UX/UI Design

The wireframe and prototype were created to provide a better visual representation and understanding of the new website. The main challenge was to determine how to implement the functionalities and interactivities developed in WordPress, such as the Timeline showcasing Dr. Banting's history.

The Result

The website's features include a user-friendly, modern layout, exhibitions and galleries, educational experience, interactive and multimedia content, and a new logo.

The final result of this project was a well-built website based on WordPress with all the interactions and functionalities we wanted, such as the interactive timeline with the main facts of the story of Dr. Frederick Banting.

Although the logo required changing, the project provided an exceptional opportunity to strengthen client relations and foster effective teamwork.
